Job Overview

GLS NXT is seeking a Freelance Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with a strong focus on backend services and APIs to ensure robust, scalable, and reliable platform releases.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Design and implement automated API and integration tests for backend microservices.
  • Develop reusable test frameworks and libraries with backend engineers.
  • Maintain test coverage across multiple services for data consistency and reliability.
  • Integrate automated tests throughout CI/CD pipelines (build, deploy, release).
  • Investigate complex backend issues using logs, metrics, and traces.
  • Continuously enhance test infrastructure with scalability and maintainability in mind.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in software testing or automation engineering.
  • Programming experience in Java, Kotlin, or Go.
  • Strong understanding of REST/GraphQL APIs and event-driven architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with API testing frameworks (REST-assured, Ktor, Playwright API, Postman/Newman).
  • Experience with CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) and version control (Git).
  • Practical knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong debugging skills using logs, metrics, and distributed tracing tools like Datadog, OpenTelemetry, Grafana.
  • Solid understanding of QA methodologies.
