Your New Role

This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your analytical skills within a rapidly evolving team. As a Data Analyst at Global, you will leverage your curiosity for insights and your enthusiasm for delivering effective analytical solutions to help advance Global’s market-leading business.

Key Responsibilities

• Building analytical solutions to meet complex business needs (40%): You will gain a deep understanding of our business, effectively gather requirements for projects, and develop innovative solutions. Insightful data visualizations, primarily using Tableau, will be central to your reports and deliverables.
• Solving problems to improve robustness in data processes (30%): You will adapt to the dynamic data landscape, identify root causes of issues, and implement efficient solutions. Your problem-solving skills will support fellow data teams through collaborative efforts and clear communication.
• Developing your skills and supporting the growth of the team (30%): You will embrace a continuous learning approach, refining your methods and expanding your perspectives to realize your full potential. You will also support team members, fostering an environment where the team achieves more than the sum of its individual parts.

What Success Looks Like

In your initial months, you will have:

• Gained a strong understanding of our business operating model within our DAX business, and some insight into our classic audio, outdoor, and consumer businesses.
• Built a foundational knowledge of the main data warehouses, systems, and data workflows relevant to your squad.
• Engaged directly with data, supporting various projects by building solutions, testing data outputs, or answering business questions.
• Spent time with team members and business stakeholders to understand ongoing projects and workstreams in DAX, contributing your ideas to shape the team's direction.

What You’ll Need

• Analytical Mindset: A curious mind that questions assumptions, applies logical processes to dissect systems, and uncovers actionable insights.
• Attention to Detail: A rigorous approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for detail to diagnose underlying causes and prescribe appropriate solutions.
• Visualisation Expertise: Proven experience producing high-quality reporting with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI, alongside proficiency in querying and wrangling data with SQL.
• Collaboration, Coaching and Support: A drive to create and maintain an inclusive environment that values diverse views and experiences. Energy to encourage and assist colleagues for collective team growth.
• Communication: The ability to simplify complex concepts for others, including effectively conveying your innovative ideas to gain buy-in.
