About the zScaler Engineer Role

Glidewell Dental is seeking an experienced Security Operations Architect/Engineer with expertise in Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) for a temporary contract position. The role is based in Irvine and is open for remote work, with a 3-month contract length and the potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the subject matter expert for ZIA policy changes or restructures.
• Review policies and configurations to improve ZIA performance and security.
• Troubleshoot complex issues including authentication, policy enforcement, client connector deployment, and connectivity challenges.
• Provide architectural recommendations and implement technical changes on the Zscaler platform.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security Operations, and IT Support teams.
• Develop and maintain documentation of configurations, onboarding processes, and troubleshooting playbooks.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) experience.
• Proven ability in resolving Zscaler onboarding and adoption issues in large enterprises.
• Experience integrating Zscaler with identity and access management solutions (e.g., Azure AD, MFA) and endpoint/device management platforms (e.g., Intune, JAMF).
• Strong understanding of network protocols (DNS, TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, VPN) and security fundamentals.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in temporary or contract roles with rapid onboarding and immediate impact.

Compensation

This role offers a competitive hourly rate between $80.00 and $120.00.
