About The Role: UX Researcher, AI

You will join GitLab's UX Research team, specifically supporting our core AI domain. This includes working on innovative features such as the Duo Agent Platform, GitLab Knowledge Graph, and Agent Marketplace. We are looking for a UX Researcher, AI who can effectively balance speed with rigor, moving quickly when necessary while maintaining high research quality. You will lead tactical studies to support rapid team decisions and contribute to strategic research that shapes our AI product direction. This role requires comfort with ambiguity and the ability to adapt your research approach to meet team needs and timelines. You will collaborate closely with Senior and Staff UX Researchers who will support your professional growth, while also building strong relationships with Product Design and Product Management counterparts.

  • Proficiency in conducting research effectively in a fully remote setting.
  • Experience working on enterprise and/or developer tooling products is a plus.
  • Prior experience with AI products, especially for enterprise dev tooling, is also a significant advantage.

What You’ll Do

  • Become the expert on users within your allocated area of coverage, understanding their use of GitLab, pain points, and workflows.
  • Collaborate extensively with GitLab designers, product managers, and engineers on a diverse range of research projects.
  • Execute all stages of UX research, from identifying and planning to conducting, analyzing, and reporting insights.
  • Utilize a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods to address research questions.
  • Communicate project statuses and updates clearly to all relevant stakeholders.

United States Salary Range

The base salary range for this role’s listed level for residents of the United States is $100,000—$150,000 USD. This range reflects the role's base salary rate across various US locations and is determined through interviews, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, equity with other team members, market data alignment, and geographic location. This range does not include bonuses, equity, or benefits. Sales roles may also be eligible for incentive pay up to 100% of the offered base salary.
