Overview
GitLab, an open-core software company, is seeking a Staff Technical Program Manager FinOps to drive financial visibility and optimization across cloud infrastructure while ensuring capacity planning excellence.
What You’ll Do
Cost Optimization and Efficiency: Monitor cloud usage, develop cost allocation and chargeback models, build unit economics frameworks, create forecasting models, design automation for capacity and cost management, and develop dashboards for better visibility.
Strategy & Process Improvement: Develop long-term strategies, build consensus among cross-functional teams, drive process improvements, research new technologies, and provide technical leadership in capacity planning decisions.
Program Management: Lead cross-functional initiatives, set KPIs and milestones, drive quarterly planning and budgeting, and manage relationships with Engineering, Finance, Product, and other teams.
What You’ll Bring
- 4+ years experience in technical program/project management or equivalent.
- Strong ability to problem solve and influence without direct authority.
- Expertise in capacity planning and cloud operations in SaaS environments.
- Proven track record with cloud cost management tools and forecasting models.
- Solid technical skills in programming, automation, and infrastructure-as-code.
