An Overview Of This Role
Talent Acquisition at GitLab is evolving — and you'll be at the center of it. As a Senior TA Technology Specialist, you own the full technology infrastructure that powers how GitLab recruits at scale. That means everything from ATS configuration and integrations to AI agent development and automation — you're the technical authority across the entire TA tech stack.
This isn't a 'run the tools' role. You'll architect intelligent workflows, maintain the systems recruiters depend on every day, and build the AI layer that makes those systems smarter over time. You'll serve as the lead TA AI liaison — ensuring every AI tool and agent we deploy meets our standards for security, compliance, and fairness.
If you're energized by the challenge of owning complex technical infrastructure while simultaneously pushing what's possible with AI — and you want to do it at a company that ships fast and trusts you to lead — this role is built for you.
What You'll Do
Systems, Tool Configuration & Infrastructure
- Own the end-to-end configuration of the TA tech stack — including ATS stages, fields, picklists, scorecards, user access, and permissions
- Manage all tools configuration, maintenance, and core setup across the technology ecosystem
- Own all integrations across the TA stack — including build, monitoring, and incident response when integrations fail; serve as the primary point of escalation for integration errors and outages
AI Agent & Automation Development
- Design, build, and deploy end-to-end AI agents and automation workflows for recruiter-facing and enterprise TA use cases
- Own automation architecture and workflow mapping across the TA infrastructure layer
- Lead AI proposal triage — assessing feasibility, process impact, and candidate experience implications before approvals are granted
- Drive prompt engineering, model management, and ongoing performance monitoring for all deployed agents
Tools Ownership, Roadmap, & Planning
- Lead the TA systems roadmap — owning evaluation, RFPs, and tech stack planning for the TA team
- Manage vendor relationships for all TA technologies
- Own tools configuration, maintenance, and integrations
- Lead legal and security reviews for AI tool proposals in coordination with the ATO and Enterprise AI teams
- Develop business cases for new AI tool investments and support Process & Enablement in evaluating non-AI tool needs
Governance, Compliance & Enablement
- Own AI governance framework and policy for the TA function — including bias auditing and fairness reviews for all AI tools and agents
- Lead data privacy and security compliance reviews for AI tools in partnership with Legal and Security
- Build and deliver AI-specific enablement curriculum and adoption programs for recruiters and TA stakeholders
- Author and maintain all AI-specific documentation, playbooks, and SOPs within the TA knowledge library
- Contribute AI agent performance data to TA dashboards and own AI performance reporting
What You'll Bring
- Demonstrated experience owning and configuring enterprise ATS platforms and HR/TA tech stacks including stages, fields, integrations, and user access management
- Hands-on experience building and deploying AI agents or automation workflows in an enterprise environment
- Strong understanding of prompt engineering, LLM behavior, and model performance monitoring
- Experience managing integrations across platforms — including diagnosing and resolving integration failures
- Familiarity with AI governance, bias auditing, and compliance frameworks
- A genuine curiosity about emerging recruiting technology — you bring ideas before you're asked
- Experience in recruiting operations, HR tech, or a related domain required
About The Team

The Technology side of the house owns everything from ATS configuration and integrations to AI agent development, vendor management, and governance — with a mandate to maintain what recruiters depend on today while building what they'll need tomorrow. We're a small team with a large scope, which means you'll have real ownership and real impact from day one.
