About the Role
As a Senior Security Engineer on GitLab's Security Incident Response Team (SIRT), you will be on the frontline of protecting both GitLab.com and GitLab from security threats. This role follows a compressed four-day workweek with full-time hours spread across four extended shifts, ensuring 24/7/365 coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead security incident response during global rotations.
- Create and maintain incident response documentation and runbooks.
- Conduct post-incident analysis including RCA and lessons-learned.
- Design and implement automated security processes.
- Collaborate with teams to enhance security infrastructure.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven ability to lead independent incident response processes.
- Experience with SIEM/security logging tools and cloud platforms (GCP/AWS).
- Python programming skills or eagerness to learn.
- A passion for technical documentation and forensic analysis.
- A proactive approach to identifying and investigating threats.
About the Team
The Security Operations team is globally distributed across AMER, APAC, and EMEA. They manage security investigations, incident response, threat analysis and help drive continuous improvement in security practices.
