Job Description
Overview of the Ironclad CLM Administrator Role at GitLab
As an Ironclad CLM Administrator on GitLab's IT Enterprise Applications team within the Lead-to-Cash organization, you will be the primary owner for the day-to-day administration, optimization, and evolution of our Ironclad contract lifecycle management (CLM) platform. This role involves serving as the key technical point of contact for contract workflows across the business, collaborating closely with Legal Operations, Sales, Deal Desk, Finance, and Partner Operations to translate business requirements into scalable configurations. You will play a crucial role in accelerating and standardizing contracting processes by improving workflows, enabling automation and reporting, and maintaining a stable, compliant environment within GitLab's fully remote, async-first culture.
Key Projects and Responsibilities
- Designing, building, and continuously improving contract workflows for various agreements such as sales agreements, partner agreements, nondisclosure agreements (NDAs), amendments, and renewals, in close partnership with Legal Operations and Deal Desk.
- Managing critical integrations between Ironclad and other key Lead-to-Cash systems, including Salesforce, Zuora CPQ, DocuSign, and NetSuite, to ensure seamless data flow and reliable handoffs throughout the entire contract lifecycle.
- Administering, configuring, and maintaining the Ironclad platform, covering workflow design, template management, clause libraries, approval chains, and user access controls, all while adhering to SOX-compliant change management processes.
- Collaborating with diverse stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into robust Ironclad configurations, communicating updates effectively in a remote, async environment.
- Utilizing Ironclad's AI capabilities, including AI Assist, AI Playbooks, Smart Import, and clause detection, to enhance contract review efficiency, minimize manual effort, and ensure compliance.
- Developing and maintaining Ironclad dashboards and reporting tools to provide critical visibility into contract status, cycle times, bottlenecks, and compliance metrics for stakeholders and leadership.
- Leading small to medium-sized projects aimed at enhancing CLM functionality and user experience, with thorough documentation in the GitLab handbook.
- Troubleshooting and resolving Ironclad platform issues, managing vendor escalations, and conducting configuration reviews to uphold quality and internal standards.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- 3+ years of hands-on contract lifecycle management (CLM) administration experience, with a strong preference for Ironclad experience. DocuSign CLM experience is also highly valued.
- Proven ability to design, build, and optimize contract workflows in a B2B SaaS or technology environment, covering sales, partner, NDA, amendment, and renewal agreements.
- Strong capability to translate complex business requirements into scalable CLM configurations, including workflow design, templates, clause libraries, approvals, and user access controls, supported by clear documentation.
- Experience supporting SOX-compliant change management and IT General Controls (ITGC) in a public company or a similarly regulated setting.
- Working knowledge of lead-to-cash systems and processes, including familiarity with Salesforce, Zuora CPQ, NetSuite, and DocuSign. Experience with integrations (APIs, middleware) is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience using Ironclad AI capabilities to improve contract review speed, reduce manual work, and bolster compliance.
- Robust reporting and analytics skills, including the ability to create dashboards and reports for contract status, cycle times, bottlenecks, and compliance metrics.
- Comfort and proficiency in a fully remote, async-first environment as a self-directed professional, possessing strong communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams.
