Overview
GitHub is looking for an experienced Product Designer to join the Design team. In this role, you will work on designing Security, Enterprise, and Platform products. You will design solutions that improve the developer experience, enabling users to learn, collaborate, automate, build, and deliver secure software.
Role Details
- High-craft, detail-oriented, systems-minded design approach.
- Define cohesive journeys and sweat the details.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, and technical writing teams.
- Work on platform-wide and AI-driven UX solutions.
- Report directly to the Senior Director of Product Design.
Responsibilities
- Shape great products and developer experiences with clear, intentional design decisions.
- Apply systems thinking to information architecture and UI patterns.
- Prioritize progress and make timely design decisions.
- Explore AI opportunities and design accessible, responsive experiences.
- Provide regular design feedback and build cross-functional relationships.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: 10+ years in product or service design, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with Engineers, Product Managers, and other Designers to design complex, multi-workflow SaaS products.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in enterprise environments, security domains, or large scale systems; a strong portfolio featuring high-craft design; familiarity with frontend languages; and exposure to AI, Large Language Models, and developer tools.
Compensation Range
The base salary range is USD 140,400 - 372,300 per year, with additional benefits, annual bonus, stock, and potential sales incentives based on revenue or utilization.
