Overview of the Sales Development Representative Role
GitHub is expanding its Sales Business Development team and is looking for experienced professionals to enhance our sales efforts. As a Sales Development Representative, you will be responsible for qualifying customer inquiries and developing account strategies to meet business objectives. This role offers the opportunity to influence customer engagement, learn industry-leading sales practices, and contribute to shaping sales approaches in a dynamic market.
Key Responsibilities
- Qualify inbound prospective customer inquiries by assessing needs and delivering value propositions to identify appropriate sales opportunities.
- Execute and contribute to the design of partner/customer account strategies to achieve business objectives and improve engagement.
- Increase customer awareness of key contacts and GitHub's value proposition to drive purchasing decisions, coordinating sales pursuits with customers and partners.
- Participate in discussions with customers and partners to align on needs and desired outcomes for successful engagements.
- Interpret product usage reporting to inform prospecting strategies and leverage internal sales metrics to manage activities and achieve individual quotas.
- Contribute to continuous process improvements by reviewing performance, analyzing strategic plans, and sharing best practices internally.
- Leverage domain and industry knowledge to develop innovative solutions that enhance workflow and results for Sales Business Development stakeholders.
- Engage with marketing, product, and customer success teams to align on messaging, product updates, and customer feedback.
- Utilize CRM and sales enablement tools effectively to track interactions, manage pipelines, and optimize sales processes, ensuring data accuracy.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ months of experience in business development, sales, consulting, or marketing, OR a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work two days a week from the San Francisco office or the Bellevue office.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year(s) of experience in business development, sales, consulting, or marketing.
