Data Strategy Group
The Data Strategy Group builds a robust, scalable, and efficient data architecture, ensuring data is meaningful, discoverable, and accessible to power GIC’s innovative investment strategies.
Data Management
In Data Management, you will actively manage GIC’s data through technology-enabled activities such as data sourcing, maintenance, and remediation, ensuring data remains trustworthy and of high quality.

You will be instrumental in building a high-performance enterprise data infrastructure and creating a results-driven approach with data products.
What will you do as a Data Business Analyst?
- Conduct requirement sessions with business users, analyzing and designing holistic solutions across the DSG's offerings.
- Work closely with stakeholders (business end-users, data vendors, data engineers) to implement and support data solutions using best-of-breed technology and methodology, adhering to data governance and architecture principles.
- Design testing strategies and execute end-to-end user acceptance testing for system and data changes.
- Manage end-to-end data management operational activities, including monitoring data delivery, resolving operational incidents, and providing user advisory.
- Establish a robust and scalable data operation process covering the entire data lifecycle, from registration to decommissioning.
- Design and implement quality metrics, monitoring market data quality to meet user expectations.
- Set up, improve, and streamline data operations processes by analyzing systems operations data (SLAs, customer satisfaction, delivery quality, team efficiency) and incorporating best practices.
- Manage and maintain strong relationships with internal and external data providers and vendors for continuous support and knowledge.
- Coach and guide junior team members.
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
- Degree from a recognized tertiary institution with at least 5 years of relevant experience in data management, finance, or asset management, including at least 3 years of hands-on experience in data management, data analytics, or business analysis.
- Experienced with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) implementation methodology and/or agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban.
- Competent in managing data warehouses, designing data models, and using data management tools such as Oracle, Snowflake, Informatica, Denodo, and data visualization tools like Tableau.
- Knowledge of using formulas/macros in Excel or coding in Python is advantageous.
- Detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills and enjoyment of complex problem-solving.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders to design and develop solutions.
- Self-driven, proactive, and purposeful in reviewing existing data usage and implementing innovative solutions for greater efficiency and quality.
