About This Opportunity
Welcome to Getinge and our Ethics & Compliance team. We are looking for a senior Trade Compliance professional who will act as Getinge’s global Subject Matter Expert (SME) and play a key role in embedding trade compliance across our global business operations. Getinge is a global company with products sold and traded worldwide. In this role, you will have end-to-end ownership of Getinge’s Global Trade Compliance program, covering Sanctions, Export Controls, and Business Partner Risk Management, with a strong focus on risk-based approaches, system enablement, and scalable global processes. You will operate at the intersection of compliance, business operations, and IT, supporting leaders and stakeholders with expert guidance while driving continuous improvement and standardization.
Key Responsibilities
- Own, develop, and continuously enhance Getinge’s Global Trade Compliance program, ensuring compliance with applicable Export Control and Sanctions laws and regulations.
- Act as the global SME and escalation point for trade compliance matters, providing expert advice to business, Legal, Supply Chain, and IT on complex or high-risk cases.
- Design and maintain a risk-based compliance framework, including risk assessments, due diligence, and control models aligned with the company’s global risk appetite.
- Monitor and assess regulatory developments in global trade compliance and translate regulatory changes into practical policies, procedures, and system controls.
- Report and escalate material trade compliance risks to senior management and support decision-making with clear risk analysis and mitigation recommendations.
What You Will Do
In this senior role, you will combine strategic ownership with hands-on leadership in systems, processes, and stakeholder engagement.
- Lead the design and continuous improvement of global trade compliance processes, ensuring standardized, scalable, and well-integrated workflows across regions and business units.
- Own and further develop SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) as the core trade compliance system, including sanctions and restricted party screening, block and release governance, export control classification and license management, and alignment between system logic and regulatory requirements.
- Re-evaluate and optimize systems and controls to increase automation and apply risk-based principles, reducing manual handling while maintaining compliance effectiveness.
- Calibrate and oversee due diligence and screening processes, ensuring appropriate risk tiering of business partners and effective escalation paths for higher-risk cases.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, supporting business decisions with pragmatic, compliant, and risk-aware guidance.
You Will Bring
To Be Successful In This Position, You Bring:
- Extensive experience in global trade compliance, in particular EU and US Sanctions and Export Control Regulations, in a multinational environment as well EU and US dual use classification.
- Extensive experience in handling High Risk Sanctions Regulations.
- Experience in Financial Sanctions.
- A proven track record acting as a subject matter expert and program owner.
- Strong understanding of risk-based compliance frameworks and due diligence methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) or equivalent trade compliance systems.
- Experience from the MedTech industry is preferred.

You have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and collaborate with stakeholders across functions and levels of the organization.
