Job Description

Overview

Our client, Get Offers, is seeking experienced Security Software Specialists to join high-impact research collaborations with leading AI labs. In this remote hourly contract role, you will contribute to building high-quality training datasets designed to improve AI model reasoning and problem-solving across real-world coding and security tasks.

This is a unique opportunity to apply your security engineering expertise toward shaping the next generation of intelligent systems.

About the Project

You will annotate frontier-model trajectories on SWE-bench–style tasks derived from real open-source repositories. Since closed-source models do not expose internal reasoning traces, this project focuses on reconstructing and annotating reasoning steps using your own structured problem-solving process and full task context.

Your work as a Security Software Specialist will help bridge the gap between observable model outputs and the underlying reasoning required to solve complex cybersecurity challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design benchmark tasks by defining vulnerability classes (type, subtype, and difficulty) and validating intended exploit behavior.
  • Create or validate small, runnable codebases that simulate trust boundary violations.
  • Develop and validate exploit scripts to demonstrate unsafe behavior.
  • Implement and verify patches that successfully prevent exploitation.
  • Produce structured task metadata including severity mapping, file and line references, impact analysis, remediation summaries, and supporting references.
  • Conduct thorough review and quality control to ensure accuracy, reproducibility, and exploit mitigation.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in software engineering with a focus on application security, vulnerability research, or secure software development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar languages commonly used in open-source projects.
  • Experience with Git, pull requests, and issue tracking workflows.
  • Ability to clearly articulate technical reasoning in structured written documentation.

Project Details & Contract Terms

This is an immediate start, part-time hourly contract position (15–25 hours per week, flexible up to 40 hours) lasting 1–2 months. You will work as an independent contractor, fully remote with flexible scheduling, and receive weekly payments via Stripe or Wise.

Please note: Get Offers cannot support H1-B and STEM OPT candidates for this role.

Application & Onboarding Process

  • Submit your resume.
  • Complete a short AI-led interview (approximately 15 minutes).
  • Receive follow-up communication within a few days regarding next steps.
