Rust Developer

Rust Developer (Remote)

We are hiring for one of our clients seeking an experienced Rust Backend Developer to design and enhance scalable APIs while contributing to structured evaluations of AI-powered developer tooling within real engineering workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain REST and GraphQL APIs
• Implement data validation, error handling, and security best practices
• Execute database migrations and performance optimizations
• Participate in structured engineering sprints evaluating AI-assisted development tools
• Document findings and provide technical feedback to product and research teams
• Collaborate with distributed engineering stakeholders

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional backend development experience with Rust
• Experience building RESTful and GraphQL APIs
• Strong understanding of backend security and validation principles
• Experience with database migrations and performance tuning
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools
• Contributions to open-source projects
• Experience evaluating experimental developer tooling

Additional Information

• Expected commitment: 15–25 hours per week
• Structured sprint cycles may require focused collaboration periods
• Contract duration to be discussed during the hiring process
