Litigation Associate - Remote

One of our clients is seeking experienced Litigation Associates to contribute to an advanced AI research initiative focused on evaluating legal reasoning and research capabilities. In this role, you will design high-quality legal research questions based on real-world litigation scenarios. Your expertise will help create a benchmark dataset that reflects the types of legal research challenges attorneys encounter in active client matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft clear, realistic legal research questions grounded in real litigation contexts.
• Develop questions based on common practitioner scenarios such as motions practice, procedural disputes, evidentiary issues, and appellate standards.
• Ensure questions require identification and synthesis of controlling authority.
• Incorporate jurisdictional analysis and application of precedent to specific fact patterns.
• Avoid abstract or purely academic hypotheticals, focusing instead on practitioner-driven legal issues.
• Structure questions so they can be effectively answered through professional legal research methods.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 4–7+ years of litigation experience at a reputable law firm.
• Strong background in substantive legal research and precedent analysis.
• Experience drafting research memoranda, legal briefs, or dispositive motions.
• Familiarity with jurisdiction-specific legal authority and case law analysis.
• Excellent written communication with clear, structured legal reasoning.
• Ability to independently develop well-scoped legal research problems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Federal clerkship experience.
• Background in appellate or complex litigation matters.
• Experience working with legal technology, AI research projects, or dataset development initiatives.

Contract and Payment Terms

• This role is offered as an independent contractor position.
• Work can be completed remotely on your own schedule.
• Project duration may change depending on project needs and performance.
• Payments are issued weekly through Stripe or Wise based on completed services.
