What the job really is
Who we are:
Who you are:
We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking a Head of Asset Lifecycle Planning who will own the solution domain that turns Geotab's telematics and cost data into prescriptive fleet capital decisions — enabling customers to operate the right-sized, right-aged, and right-deployed set of assets at the lowest total cost of ownership. If you love technology, and are keen to join an industry leader — we would love to hear from you!
What you'll do:
As a Head of Asset Lifecycle Planning, your key area of responsibility will be owning the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Asset Lifecycle Planning domain — spanning replacement and retirement planning, right-sizing, reallocation, utilization-driven capital recommendations, total cost of ownership analytics, and EV adoption strategy. You will be responsible for translating board-level strategic direction into product execution and ensuring confident, defensible capital decisions are made inside the product. You will need to work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and product engineers, as well as partner closely with the Maintenance domain, platform teams, segment leads, and executive leadership.
To be successful in this role you will be a customer-obsessed, strategic leader with strong commercial instinct and the ability to connect customer pain to market opportunity and business value. In addition, the successful candidate will have deep cross-functional leadership experience across product management, design, and engineering disciplines, with the ability to operate at the intersection of business strategy, customer experience, and technical execution — owning outcomes while building and developing high-performing teams.
How you'll make an impact:
- Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Asset Lifecycle Planning domain, ensuring confident, data-driven capital decisions (keep, replace, remove, reallocate, or buy) are made inside the product in minutes rather than weeks.
- Lead the identification and resolution of product gaps, competitive risks, and market opportunities, maintaining a customer-demand-driven roadmap prioritized by impact to fleet outcomes and business KPAs.
- Build, develop, and lead a cross-functional team of product managers, designers, and product engineers; provide coaching, mentorship, and career development to grow next-generation talent and emerging leaders.
- Own the Asset Lifecycle Planning domain investment portfolio; make principled build/buy/partner decisions and trade-offs between new capability development, growth, customer satisfaction, and quality.
- Partner with Heads of Platform Domain, Segment Domain, and peer Solution Domain leads to coordinate cross-cutting dependencies and ensure Asset Lifecycle Planning capabilities are packaged and positioned effectively for key customer segments.
- Track and report on business outcomes, customer KPA attainment, and domain delivery health — including adoption, revenue, churn, and NPS — surfacing risks and recommendations to board leadership.
- Establish feedback loops with customers, sales, and support teams to continuously capture product gaps and translate them into actionable improvements that drive fleet capital efficiency.
What you'll bring to the role:
- 5+ years in product management, product engineering, or related customer-facing product roles, with 5+ years of senior product and people leadership with cross-functional scope and direct accountability for customer-facing business outcomes.
- Strong product leadership capability with demonstrated ability to define and execute customer-facing product strategy tied to measurable business outcomes, with P&L literacy and revenue attribution.
- Deep customer empathy and commercial instinct — proven ability to connect customer pain to market opportunity, product investment, and business value.
- Cross-functional leadership experience across product management, product design, and product engineering disciplines, with the ability to operate at the intersection of business strategy, customer experience, and technical execution.
- Proficient in defining and tracking product KPIs, customer adoption metrics, and outcome-linked business indicators; familiarity with modern product discovery and validation practices.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; able to build effective partnerships with platform teams, segment leads, and executive leadership in evolving, ambiguous organizational structures.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and work experience); relevant product management certifications (e.g., PSPO, CPO) considered an asset.
