About Sales Associate

Founded in 1979, GEOKON has grown to more than 140 employees and offers a full complement of instrumentation and data loggers for various industries including tunnels, dams, mines, piles, bridges, pipelines, landfills, embankments, transportation and wind turbines.

Role Overview

The Sales Associate at Geokon Inc is a frontline professional responsible for providing excellent customer service and technical support for geotechnical instruments and dataloggers. The role involves engaging with customers, handling inquiries, processing sales, and providing after-sales support.

Essential Functions

  • Establish personal rapport with potential and current customers.
  • Answer incoming sales opportunities via web queries, phone calls, or emails.
  • Provide sales support to the outside sales team as needed.
  • Assist customers in identifying the right instrumentation for their projects.
  • Provide technical product information and explain sensor use and installation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, custom electronics, and production for custom products.
  • Prepare quotes by studying specifications and consulting with technical personnel.
  • Follow up on quoted projects and manage orders using the ERP system and CRM.
  • Offer after-sales customer service and support.
  • Travel to trade shows as required.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred) in Civil Engineering, Geology, Marketing, Sales, Business or equivalent technical sales experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of work experience in a related field.
  • Experience in geotechnical instrumentation or sensor fields is preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong technical background, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with civil engineering projects and terminology.
  • Strong negotiation skills and sound business judgement.
