The Case Specialist, Patient Services is the dedicated point of contact for prescribers, office staff, patients, and caregivers regarding access and reimbursement of prescribed medications.
Responsibilities
The role involves providing high quality case management and support once a prescription is written, guiding patients through insurance coverage, prior authorizations, appeals, and financial assistance programs. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination through the patient journey.
- Act as the main contact for patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers.
- Guide patients through insurance complexities including benefit reviews and appeals.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Field Reimbursement Managers and Nurse Teams.
- Document patient needs, coordinate services, and ensure timely responses.
- Provide feedback and market insights to improve processes.
Requirements
Applicants should hold at least a bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Social Work, Counseling, Office Practice Management or Pharmacy. With 1+ years of patient services experience, you must have strong communication and empathetic listening skills and familiarity with the healthcare insurance landscape. Proficiency in CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce.com) and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.
Compensation & Benefits
The proposed salary band for US-based candidates is $76,000 to $114,000, with the actual offer based on skills, qualifications, and experience.
