About Genesis Ray
Genesis Ray is a data and technology company focused on the energy sector. We help energy companies solve complex problems - from geospatial analysis and site assessment to forecasting and infrastructure planning. We're now building AI-powered solutions that use multi-agent systems to automate workflows that were previously manual, slow, and hard to scale.
About the AI Engineer Role
We're looking for an AI Engineer to join our team early and own real projects from day one. This is a remote, contract-based role to start, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent position based on performance, delivery quality, and long-term fit.
What You'll Do
- Build and deploy AI agents that process structured data (databases, GIS layers, APIs) and unstructured data (regulatory PDFs, documents, web content)
- Design and implement multi-agent workflows that automate analysis across large datasets
- Build RAG pipelines and knowledge graphs that make AI outputs explainable and auditable - not just black-box LLM responses
- Apply context engineering techniques (knowledge graphs, semantic layers, structured reasoning) to improve accuracy and reduce hallucinations
- Integrate open-source tools and third-party services into our AI platform via APIs
- Enable natural language interfaces that let non-technical users query complex data
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years building AI/ML applications in Python
- Hands-on experience building multi-agent or LLM-powered workflows (using frameworks such as Langflow, LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, or similar)
- Understanding of context engineering - how to structure and curate the right context (knowledge graphs, semantic layers, retrieval strategies) so LLMs give reliable, traceable outputs
- Experience with RAG, vector databases, and document processing (PDF extraction, OCR, NLP)
- Comfortable working with LLM APIs and prompt engineering
- Solid understanding of REST APIs and database integration (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Fast learner who can pick up new tools and frameworks quickly - our stack evolves constantly
Nice to Have
- Experience with geospatial data or tools (PostGIS, GeoJSON, QGIS)
- Experience with knowledge graph construction and querying
- Web scraping/crawling at scale
- Cloud deployment (AWS)
