Job Description
Technical Specialist, Digital Key Role Overview
The Vehicle Mechatronic Embedded Controls (VMEC) team at General Motors delivers customer-facing features through layered software architecture. In this role, you will lead design, development, testing and implementation of embedded software specifically in the Digital Key domain.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for roadmap execution.
- Provide technical leadership and vision in digital key innovations.
- Develop and review software designs ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Plan and negotiate software release schedules.
- Coach and mentor team members while managing multiple projects.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 4+ years in Digital Key experience and 8+ years in automotive embedded software.
- Strong knowledge in C, C++, Python and automotive software standards.
- Experience in requirements engineering, agile practices, and software configuration management (GIT, Jira).
- Familiarity with vehicle electrical architectures and cybersecurity standards.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Prior experience at General Motors or a major automotive supplier.
- Master’s degree in related disciplines.
- Experience with vehicle development processes and relevant tools (Matlab, Simulink, etc.).
Work Arrangement & Additional Information
This hybrid role requires on-site presence approximately three times per week with less than 25% travel. Relocation benefits are not provided.
