About the Role
The Technical Instructional System Designer at General Motors is responsible for end-to-end training development. This role involves designing, developing, and delivering technical and business training materials using various media including virtual, web-based, instructor-led, self-paced, and video conferencing.
Major Responsibilities
- Design and develop training material using instructional design techniques.
- Gather and analyze user requirements aligning with business objectives.
- Create and edit course outlines, design documents, and instructional guides.
- Collaborate with SMEs and program managers to support training plans.
- Evaluate learning outcomes and incorporate feedback into improvements.
Required Skills / Experience
- Minimum four years in course development, curriculum design or e-learning.
- Experience delivering technical training for software development audiences.
- Proficiency with Articulate, Vyond, Camtasia, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Suite.
- Deep understanding of ADDIE and SAM models.
- Excellent communication skills and global collaboration experience.
Work Arrangement & Location
This role is primarily remote; candidates within 50 miles of Atlanta (GA), Austin (TX), Detroit (MI), Warren (MI), or Mountain View (CA) must report to that location three times per week.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range is approximately $68,900 - $105,700 with bonus potential and various health and well-being benefit options. Note: This role does not include relocation benefits and GM does not sponsor immigration-related visas.
