Overview
The General Motors Cost Engineer role blends cost engineering expertise with strategic business planning. The candidate will serve as a trusted advisor for leaders and executives within the PPCO organization. The role involves supporting business planning processes, conducting managerial presentations, and collaborating across various teams including engineering, purchasing, and program management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide primary support to functional leaders with business planning processes.
- Develop and deliver presentations to all management levels.
- Plan and execute meetings and cost savings events.
- Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, program management, and global teams.
- Perform special studies and analysis for cost savings and corporate initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience in sales, marketing, purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, logistics, or product development. Must possess strong analytical, communication, and project management skills and be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the GPSC organization, a solid understanding of corporate policies, and superior interpersonal communication abilities to work with business partners effectively.
Additional Information
This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of three days per week at the Warren, MI office. Note that GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship. Relocation benefits are not available.
