General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a highly motivated Remote Junior Web Developer + AI with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Application Modernization. This critical role supports the modernization of the Delivery Operations Information System (DOIS) for the United States Postal Service (USPS).
As a Remote Junior Web Developer + AI, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining user interfaces for the DOIS modernization project, specifically embedding Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities within the modernized application. Your focus will be on creating a seamless, responsive web experience using modern web technologies and AI tools like GitHub Copilot.

How a Remote Junior Web Developer + AI Will Make an Impact:
- Develop and maintain responsive web applications using modern frameworks such as Angular, React, or similar technologies.
- Implement front-end solutions that are mobile responsive and compliant with Section 508 Accessibility standards.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate design prototypes into interactive and functional web pages.
- Utilize AI tools like GitHub Copilot for code generation, refactoring, and optimization.
- Ensure web applications are secure, performant, and scalable, adhering to best practices and industry standards.
- Integrate front-end components with back-end services via REST APIs and other data communication methods.
- Perform analytical, statistical, and programming tasks to collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets, developing data-driven solutions to business challenges.
- Conduct thorough testing of web applications to ensure cross-browser compatibility and device responsiveness.
- Participate actively in Agile Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews.
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, and testers to understand requirements and deliver high-quality web solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end reporting solutions, leveraging full-stack developer skills for front-end visualization and back-end data processing/storage.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred, but not strictly required. An additional 4 years of relevant work experience can substitute for a degree.
Required Experience and Residency:
- 3+ years of experience in web development with a strong focus on responsive design.
- Must have experience with AI tools, particularly GitHub Copilot, for code generation and optimization.
- Proficiency in modern front-end frameworks and libraries such as Angular, React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud technologies (AWS).
- Strong understanding of web security practices and standards.
- This position has a U.S. residency requirement, necessitating residence in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years, with specific limitations on time spent outside the U.S. for both U.S. citizens and non-U.S. citizens due to the USPS security clearance process.
