Junior Web Developer AI
We are seeking a Junior Web Developer with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Application Modernization to join our dynamic team. The position will play a critical role in the modernization of the Delivery Operations Information System (DOIS) for GDIT's client. The Web Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining user interfaces for the DOIS modernization project for USPS, and embedding Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities within the modernized application. The individual will focus on creating a seamless and responsive web experience, leveraging modern web technologies and AI tools such as GitHub Copilot.

HOW A WEB DEVELOPER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Develop and maintain responsive web applications using modern frameworks like Angular, React, or similar technologies.
- Implement front-end solutions that are mobile responsive and compliant with Section 508 Accessibility standards.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate design prototypes into interactive and functional web pages.
- Utilize AI tools such as GitHub Copilot to assist in code generation, refactoring, and optimization.
- Ensure web applications are secure, performant, and scalable by following best practices and industry standards.
- Integrate front-end components with back-end services via REST APIs and other data communication methods.
- Performs work associated with the analytical, statistical, and programming skills to collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets; develop data-driven solutions to difficult business challenges
- Conduct thorough testing of web applications to ensure cross-browser compatibility and device responsiveness.
- Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews.
- Work closely with other developers, business analysts, and testers to understand requirements and deliver high-quality web solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end reporting solutions, leveraging full stack developer skills to integrate front-end visualization tools with back-end data processing and storage systems.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields, preferred but not required. If there is no relevant college degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required.
Required Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in web development with a strong focus on responsive design.
- Proficiency in modern front-end frameworks and libraries such as Angular, React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Must have experience with AI tools, particularly GitHub Copilot, for code generation and optimization.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud technologies (AWS).
- Strong understanding of web security practices and standards.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
Desired Skills:

Location:
Remote. This position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.
Security Clearance Level:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting.

The likely salary range for this position is $74,800 - $101,200.
