Job Overview
General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Security Technical Intern. This role supports CMS activities and the Healthcare Integrated General Ledger Accounting System (HIGLAS) contract. You will work with analysts and engineers on continuous monitoring, threat analysis, and implementing security safeguards.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor network and system events for anomalies.
- Analyze security events and assist in incident response.
- Draft documentation detailing potential security risks.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with technical SMEs to ensure controls function as intended.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Information Technology, or equivalent experience is required. 0-2 years of experience in computing technologies, vulnerability management, risk management, and security analysis is expected.
Preferred Qualifications
Entry-level IT or security certifications (e.g., Security+ CE) are beneficial. Knowledge of Splunk, DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and CMS security guidelines will be an advantage.

Work Arrangement & Location
This is a 100% remote position, ideally in Eastern or Central time zones. Occasional onsite visits in the Baltimore, MD area may be required.
