DevOps Systems Engineer
General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a dedicated DevOps Systems Engineer to support NASA's Consolidated Applications Platform Services (NCAPS) contract. This role is crucial for modernizing and transforming a significant portfolio of enterprise business solutions for NASA. You will join a team that values complex problem-solving and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation and maintenance (O&M) of existing Red Hat OpenShift environments across multiple security domains, including Cloud and datacenter (vSphere) environments.
- Utilize OpenShift Command Line Interface for various tasks, including login, project creation, application deployment, exposure, logs/debug operations, and administrative tasks like RBAC policy management.
- Deploy OpenShift to new sites as they become operational.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to understand integration requirements and scale existing platforms accordingly.
- Work with security teams to ensure ongoing compliance and develop secure solutions.
- Support data services such as RabbitMQ, Redis, PostgreSQL, and Elastic Stack.
- Experience with platforms like Kubernetes, EKS, OpenShift, or other container orchestration platforms.
- Experience with Cloud Computing and Hybrid On-Prem solutions.
- Experience with Docker or similar container technology.
- Experience with GitLab, Bitbucket, GitHub Enterprise, or similar source repository and CI/CD collaboration platforms.
- Build and compile applications using Shell scripting, Java, Python, or JavaScript.

- Experience with NASA World Wind Java, ATAK, Cesium, Protocol Buffers, Avro, OpenGL/OpenCL, and/or CUDA.
