About the Cyber SME Role
The Cyber SME role at General Dynamics Information Technology is part of the Enterprise Zero Trust Program servicing a DoD client. This position provides expert advice on complex cybersecurity challenges and offers technical interpretations and alternative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer technical expertise on executive-level project teams.
- Participate in technical design reviews and security control assessments.
- Create and review technical documentation and training materials.
- Analyze threat intelligence and develop countermeasures.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with IT, legal, and compliance teams.
- Participate in incident response efforts and security awareness training.
- Research and develop new cybersecurity technologies.
Required Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in cybersecurity, IT security, and risk management with a solid technical foundation. Key skills include:
- 5+ years of related experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields
- Current Secret clearance with ability to obtain required certifications
- Experience in a DoD STIG and RMF environment
- Proficiency in automation for cybersecurity and SIEM/SOAR tools
- Understanding network architectures, operating systems, and programming languages
