Job Description:

GDIT is seeking a BMC Remedy/Helix Developer to join their NESD Helix engineering team. This role involves shaping technology for mission-critical government projects and advancing your engineering career. The position is currently pending funding.

Meaningful Work and Personal Impact

As a BMC Remedy/Helix Developer, your work will significantly impact the NESD Helix engineering team's mission. You will provide accurate technical guidance on application and integration capabilities. Key responsibilities include gathering requirements, preparing and delivering presentations and demos, writing documentation (requirements, design, implementation guides, test scripts), and developing workflows and integrations. This involves building forms, fields, and workflows in Developer Studio and Innovation Studio, as well as creating data import files for Foundation and Transactional Data. You will also develop RestAPI, WebService, and LDAP integrations between Helix and external applications/systems, and develop Digital Workplace Service Offerings. Additionally, you will handle incident assignments, communicate with customers within SLAs, and create follow-on change requests and Jira stories. You will prepare and coordinate change requests, adhere to operating procedures, maintain the production environment, and meet key performance indicators. The role requires multitasking across projects such as customer onboarding, ad-hoc requests, sustainment support, and continuous service improvement initiatives. You will identify and communicate gaps between out-of-the-box workflows and custom requirements, working with teams to provide out-of-the-box solutions to minimize customization. Maintaining system integrity through defined configuration control and change management processes is crucial. You will manage sprint loads, forecast work, execute to milestones, minimize technical debt, and provide product demonstrations. Professional verbal and written communication with customers, peers, and leadership is essential. Participation in on-call rotations, daily scrums, sprint planning, technical reviews, and approved service interruption change windows is expected. The role operates within a remote team environment supporting scheduled and ad-hoc meetings.

What You'll Need to Succeed

To excel as a BMC Remedy/Helix Developer at GDIT, you should possess strong engineering expertise and a drive for innovation. Requirements include:

• Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance preferred.
• Experience: 5+ years of software development experience.
• BMC Expertise: BMC Accredited Administrator or equivalent experience with Remedy/Helix Developer Studio.
• Cloud Environments: Experience with SAAS solutions or AWS Cloud environments.
• BMC Remedy Version: Experience with BMC Remedy version 23.x or higher.
• ITIL Methodologies: Experience with ITIL methodologies; ITIL Foundation is a plus.
• Helix/Remedy Application Flows: Experience with Helix/Remedy application process flows.
• Specific Helix Applications: Expert familiarity in one or more 23.x+ Helix applications, including Incident Management, Remedy Knowledge Management, Change Management, Task Management, Release Management, Service Level Management, Service Request Management, Work Order Management, Smart Reporting, Helix Dashboards, Smart IT, Digital WorkPlace Portal (DWP), Configuration Management Database (CMDB), or Asset Management.
• Integration Experience: Experience with Pentaho Spoon, BMC HDM, RestAPI, or Webservices for system interfaces or data migration.
• Optional Experience: Experience in other Helix applications like IT Operations Management, Business Workflows, or Business Portfolio Manager.
• Agile Environment: Experience working in an Agile project methodology; Jira story management is a plus.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Software Proficiency: Ability to create and edit documents in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Advanced ability to analyze data with Microsoft Excel or comparable tools. Ability to create and describe process flows in Microsoft Visio or comparable tool. Experience managing documents in Microsoft SharePoint.
• Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of relational databases. Understanding of networking concepts and OSI rules. Ability to utilize logging for troubleshooting.
• Customer Interaction: Experience providing demonstrations to customers, gathering requirements, and documenting requirements.
• Project Management: Experience working with multiple projects and team members. Demonstrated ability to work productively in a remote location.
• Required Certification: CompTIA Security+ CE certification (may obtain within 3 months from start date).
• Education: BS degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
