Job Overview

The Senior Mechanical Analysis Engineer at GE Vernova works within the Mechanical Analysis team of the GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) Engineering organization. This role focuses on structural stress and fatigue analysis for reactor vessels, internal structures, and components.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop creative and effective solutions for complex engineering problems.
  • Analyze plant structures to establish loads and response characteristics.
  • Confirm reactor components meet stress and fatigue criteria.
  • Evaluate static, dynamic, thermal, and vibration loads.
  • Create detailed finite element models using GE in-house codes and industry tools.
  • Engage customers to define scope and discuss technical risks.
  • Provide clear documentation and present analysis results.
  • Mentor less experienced engineers and manage multiple priorities.

Qualifications

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering is required along with at least 8 years of mechanical analysis experience. A master’s degree, nuclear industry experience, and proficiency in simulation tools (ANSYS, APDL) and scripting (Python, VBA) are highly desired.
