The Senior Engineer – Nuclear Fuel Thermal-Hydraulic Methods & Analysis role advances GE Vernova's nuclear thermal-hydraulic capabilities, focusing on fuel development and system/subchannel analysis codes. The role emphasizes core and fuel thermal-hydraulic analysis, methods development, code validation, and experimental test program oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead thermal-hydraulic analyses for BWR fuel design and performance evaluation.
- Develop, apply, and maintain thermal-hydraulic system codes and correlations.
- Create and validate programming tools to support complex engineering analyses.
- Guide technical direction in thermal hydraulics across nuclear and mechanical teams.
- Plan, prepare, and supervise experimental test programs and data analysis.
- Provide technical consultation and document methodologies and findings.
- Interface with regulatory agencies and ensure software quality for nuclear standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing within the team.
Required & Desired Qualifications
Applicants should hold a Master’s or Ph.D. in a related field with relevant experience (minimum 3-5 years). Expertise in thermal-hydraulics, two-phase flow, nuclear fuel design, programming (Python, MATLAB, Fortran), and CFD is required. Familiarity with codes such as COBRG, PANAC, TRACG, RELAP, and ISCOR is advantageous.
Additional Information
