GE Vernova’s Electrification Software Global Delivery Center in Bucharest is seeking an Optimization Software Engineer – Electricity Markets. Join a high-performing, globally distributed team to contribute advanced software solutions for Electricity Market Management Systems (MMS) with a focus on Flow-Based Market Coupling (FBMC) and other optimization-based features.

What You Would Work On

You will collaborate with business experts and product teams to refine requirements, design, implement, and test new flow-based market functionalities. Your role includes coding, debugging, testing, documentation, and ensuring high code quality by developing automated regression and unit tests.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business experts for detailed design and implementation.
• Develop and maintain software components for electricity market functionalities.
• Participate in the full development cycle including coding, testing, integration, and documentation.
• Conduct troubleshooting and resolve software defects efficiently.
• Work in a distributed Agile environment adhering to DevOps and CI/CD practices.

Qualifications & Skills

A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required. A background in mathematical optimization algorithms and knowledge in the Electricity Market field is advantageous. Proficiency in C++ and experience in Python, Linux-based development, Docker, and DevOps practices are essential.
