Overview
As a member of the Steam Power Services Inquiry to Remittance (ITR) engineering team in Americas for GE Vernova, you will contribute to service engineering activities such as outage planning & execution, technical guidance, complex repair leadership, root cause analysis, and design of steam turbine components.
Your Role
In the role of Lead Engineer - Mechanical Component, you will:
- Provide technical guidance during outage planning and execution
- Support field engineers with disassembly, inspection, and reassembly
- Design engineered flow parts and lead design reviews
- Collaborate with global steam turbine design engineering teams
- Conduct root cause analysis and advise on corrective actions
Responsibilities
- Guide field engineers and service managers during outages
- Develop test plans for site disassembly, inspection, and reassembly
- Support parts engineering with product design form, fit, and function
- Conduct product design reviews and technical risk discussions
- Implement lean methodologies ensuring safety, quality, and cost efficiency
- Collaborate with sales, on-site services and repair centers for technical support
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
- 3+ years in steam turbine service engineering
- 2+ years field execution experience in power generation
Desired Characteristics
- Strong knowledge of steam turbine systems and repair methods
- Experience with CAD software like Catia or SolidWorks
- Excellent technical communication and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and drive continuous improvement
Benefits & Compensation
Base pay range between $98,400 and $131,200 USD with eligibility for a 10% performance bonus. Additional benefits include comprehensive healthcare, retirement plans, tuition assistance, paid time off, and more.
