Job Description

CMC Component Design EIS Sub-Section Manager - Job Summary

You will play a critical role in ensuring the successful GE9X entry into service, keeping the LEAP fleet flying reliably, and driving continuous improvement in the design and manufacture of CMC components.

You Will Work Closely With

  • Manufacturing site leaders and shop teams
  • Evendale-based component design teams
  • Cross-functional partners in quality, supply chain, and services

Job Description

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced CMC or manufacturing engineering leader to step into a people-leadership role while staying close to the factory and the product.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the CMC Component Design EIS team in the shop, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Champion Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost with safety as the top priority
  • Serve as the primary design engineering focal for the manufacturing team and resolve build issues
  • Drive NPI and EIS execution for GE9X and support LEAP fleet reliability
  • Apply FLIGHT DECK principles to streamline engineering processes and standardize best practices
  • Provide technical leadership on CMC design, durability, and manufacturability
  • Support fleet and field issues, partnering to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Define and track KPIs for design support, quality, and project execution
  • Develop talent within the team through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of experience in CMC design engineering and/or manufacturing.

Desired Characteristics

6+ years in CMC design engineering and/or manufacturing experience, strong communication and leadership skills, ability to solve complex problems, and proven project management experience.
