Overview
The Manager, Database Marketing at Gartner is responsible for the strategic growth and overall health of our contact database. This role accelerates Gartner C-level Communities' growth by ensuring data quality, completeness, accuracy, and validity through technical expertise and cross-functional collaboration.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Database Leadership: Own multiple cross-functional relationships, communicate goals, and support community, sales, and business units. Provide technical mentorship to Marketing Database Coordinators/Specialists, manage projects, and update leadership on progress.
Database Strategy: Define and implement strategy, acquire new data, ensure data hygiene, collaborate with stakeholders, and enhance database architecture for scalability. Identify additional data sources and present regular reports on database health.
Data Processing: Develop automated solutions including AI tools for data aggregation, standardization, and cleansing. Define rulesets for data review, categorization, and routing, and resolve exceptions and anomalies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field
- 3+ years’ experience in leading/coaching teams
- 5+ years’ experience managing a CRM database (Salesforce preferred)
- Advanced proficiency with SQL or Python
- Experience with tools like Alteryx, Dataiku, Power BI or Tableau
- Strong leadership, project management, and technical problem-solving skills
