Job Description

About this role:

The Account Executive role at Gartner is a critical sales position responsible for both retaining existing accounts and driving growth through the introduction of new products and services.

About Gartner Midsize Enterprise (MSE):

Gartner's Midsize Enterprise (MSE) division is a significant sales organization spanning the US, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. This high-growth unit focuses on acquiring and supporting High Tech and End User client accounts with annual revenues between $10 million and $1 billion.

Understanding The Work Environment & Standards Across MSE:

Gartner MSE embraces a hybrid work model, blending virtual and in-office experiences. Regular in-office activities, such as 1:1 manager meetings, team sessions, and upskilling programs, are common, fostering collaboration, learning, and relationship building. A business casual dress code is maintained to support a professional appearance and workspace, which is crucial for building trust and credibility with C-Level executives.

What you will do as an Account Executive:

  • Build trust-based, value-added relationships with C-Level prospects to quickly uncover their mission-critical priorities and identify how Gartner can support their success.
  • Develop new business opportunities within existing accounts, owning the full sales cycle from initial prospecting through to successful closure.
  • Conduct effective calls with C-Level prospects to qualify opportunities, showcase Gartner’s capabilities, and secure new business.
  • Collaborate closely with internal partners across the business to effectively demonstrate Gartner's value through portal walkthroughs and proof of concepts.
  • Continually build a robust pipeline of high-quality opportunities to consistently meet and exceed your sales metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Deliver against your assigned annual quota for your designated territory.

What you will need:

  • 2-6 years of experience in a professional setting, with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Demonstrated intellect, drive, executive presence, and strong sales acumen.
  • Experience selling IT, staffing/recruiting, or professional services solutions is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience selling to and/or influencing C-Level Executives.
  • A competitive drive combined with a collaborative approach; you aspire to be the best and inspire those around you, challenging yourself with goals and supporting your teammates.
  • Proven ability to precisely manage and forecast a complex sales process.
  • Willingness to live within a commutable distance to the required location for this role (relocation assistance is available for qualifying candidates).
  • A Bachelor's degree is desired.

What you will get:

Gartner is committed to investing in your career. Beyond a job, you will gain resources for an exciting, rewarding career path. Growth opportunities are abundant, with individual development plans, mentorships, and clear career progression. The role offers uncapped earnings potential, with top performers recognized through disproportionate rewards and the annual “Winners Circle” event. New hires receive comprehensive onboarding through the Expedition training program, ensuring they are set up for success. Gartner’s consistent quarter-over-quarter growth demonstrates its resilience and adaptability in a changing macro-environment.
