About the Director, Marketing Technology Role

The Director of Marketing Technology is a strategic and technical leader overseeing Gannett’s marketing technology infrastructure and processes. In this role, you will drive the integration of marketing technology solutions to enable data-driven decision-making and enhance digital marketing capabilities. You will work closely with teams from Marketing, Content, Data Engineering, IT, Analytics, Sales, Customer Service, and Product to align technology investments with overall business strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize the roadmap in alignment with business priorities.
  • Manage a distributed team to design and implement marketing technology solutions.
  • Oversee relationships with strategic technology partners.
  • Stay updated on emerging marketing technology trends.
  • Present strategies and roadmaps to key stakeholders and executives.
  • Develop and maintain robust processes for issue resolution and retrospective analysis.
  • Implement governance, documentation, data quality, and QA practices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in digital marketing or marketing technology, including 4+ years in a leadership role.
  • Experience with marketing platforms such as CDPs, ESPs, Ad Servers, and CRMs.
  • Proven experience overseeing complex technology implementations and integrations.

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience working or partnering with media companies.
  • Relevant marketing platform certifications.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual base salary ranges between $150,000 and $175,000. Base compensation considers factors such as market location, education, skills, certifications, and experience. Variable compensation may also be applicable based on role metrics.
