Job Description
Software Engineer, AI at G2i Inc.
Help train large-language models (LLMs) to write production-grade code across a wide range of programming languages. This role involves comparing and ranking multiple code snippets, explaining why one is superior, and repairing or refactoring AI-generated code for correctness, efficiency, and style. You will also inject feedback (ratings, edits, test results) into the RLHF (Reinforcement Learning with Human Feedback) pipeline, ensuring it runs smoothly. The ultimate goal is to enable the model to propose, critique, and improve code in a manner similar to an expert engineer.
The RLHF process involves generating code, followed by expert engineers ranking, editing, and justifying their changes. This feedback is then converted into reward signals, which reinforcement learning uses to tune the model toward producing ship-ready code.
What You’ll Need
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience in Python.
- Strong code-review instincts, allowing you to quickly spot logic errors, performance traps, and security issues.
- Extreme attention to detail and excellent written communication skills are crucial, especially for explaining code improvements.
- Enjoy reading documentation and language specifications, and thrive in an asynchronous, low-oversight work environment.
What You Don’t Need
- No prior RLHF (Reinforcement Learning with Human Feedback) or AI training experience is required.
- No deep machine learning knowledge. If you can clearly review and critique code, G2i Inc. will provide the necessary training for the rest.
Tech Stack
We are specifically looking for engineers with a strong command of Python.
Logistics
- Location: Fully remote – work from anywhere.
- Compensation: From $30/hr to $70/hr, depending on location and seniority.
- Hours: Minimum 15 hrs/week, up to 40 hrs/week available.
- Engagement: 1099 contract.
