About the Data Architect Role at Futurice
Data Architects at Futurice are generalists working across industries to help clients solve important business and technology challenges. They are involved in digital services, software development, and improving digital practices within large organizations. Architects possess a broad understanding of technology and a modern toolset of frameworks and methodologies, often with years of experience in software development, extending their scope to organizational impact. As a Data Architect, you’ll be part of one of our Service Lines, collaborating closely with others.
As a Data Architect, you will truly deep-dive into a client's data. Guided by business and user needs, you will design end-to-end overall architecture for ingesting, processing, storing, and publishing data for further usage. You will specifically work on:
- Designing and building data platform, data mesh, and data warehousing solutions in the cloud.
- Planning architecture and building infrastructure for data ingestion, processing, analytics, visualizations, and business intelligence systems.
- Integrating AI/Machine learning inference as part of a data platform.
- Data governance and (conceptual and logical) data modeling.
- Designing and implementing data pipelines to handle different types of source data.

What Futurice Looks For
To succeed as a Data Architect, practical experience and specific skills are essential:
- Solid experience in designing software architectures and communicating them effectively to both business decision-makers and technology experts.
- Ability to design and build cloud-based solutions (such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake) utilizing data warehouses, databases, machine learning, and business intelligence.
- Experience designing batch and streaming data processing.
- Understanding of master data management, data governance, and data catalogs.
- Knowledge of data regulations like GDPR and their impact on development and utilizing data assets.
- Expertise in agile software development and methods (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and familiarity with modern Dev/Data/MLOps best practices and tools.
We are also looking for individuals who demonstrate the following personal qualities:
- Good leadership skills in achieving momentum, action, and results.
- Ability to ask the right questions and drive troubleshooting with experts.
- A thought leader and influencer, potentially through public speaking or tech articles.
- Willingness to adjust abstraction levels to solve organizational issues and drive results in large projects.
- Ability to work in diverse work cultures and comfort with non-hierarchical organizations.
- Appreciation for good communication with both the team and clients.
- Fluency in Finnish and English.

Compensation & Next Steps
Your complete compensation package will be discussed in detail during the recruitment process. Our salary model offers a range of levels based on skills, responsibilities, and impact. During the initial interview round, we will discuss the salary range for this position, which includes a fixed salary with the possibility of performance-based bonuses and additional benefits.
