This Data Processor role involves collating, processing, and presenting data, running projects of low to medium complexity, and performing crucial error analyses and corrections. You will also manage administrative duties, including maintaining accurate survey logs, and conducting quality control/assurance checks on data for client delivery. A key aspect of this role is identifying process improvement opportunities, recommending workflow changes, and communicating needs to software developers. Expertise in discipline-applicable data processing and GIS software is essential, requiring you to stay current with the latest revisions.

As a Data Processor/Cartographer, you will process field data and produce charts and maps, adhering strictly to instructions and priorities set by the Resource/Data Centre Manager. This position requires close collaboration with various stakeholders including the OSDC Manager, Chief Geophysicist, Project Supervisors, and Staff Surveyor to ensure timely data processing, charting, and reporting. You will participate in regular meetings with managers and supervisors, coordinate with the Survey Manager to enhance data processing and charting workflows, and interact with BLM/PMs to fulfill their data processing, charting, and database requirements. Additionally, you will liaise with Party Chiefs regarding data quality, work with Project Managers on survey instructions, and collaborate with the IT Manager on data backup, security, and security audits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Check survey data received from the field for completeness and quality.
  • Determine Processing/Drafting requirements together with the Data Centre Manager.
  • Prepare & Set-up a processing plan for assigned projects and carry out processing for assigned projects.
  • Onshore / Offshore processing and Quality Control of navigation, bathymetry, and all other survey data sets acquired on Vessel. This includes ROV data, AUV data, Multibeam data, Pipeline inspection / installation data sets, Positioning data sets, etc.
  • Manage the integrity of project data sets including the incorporation of data sets from 3rd party’s, in particular as-built data sets.
  • Carry out drafting activities for assigned projects compliant with Fugro charting standards.
  • Responsible for correct processing of survey data and for correct technical data submitted for the report.
  • Maintain survey results/charts/reports archive for all Jobs and store data in short and long-term facilities.
  • Prepare and review processing procedures.

Required Experience & Skills

  • B.E./B.Tech. in Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience.
Must have skills
  • Experience in Multi-beam and Single-beam Bathymetry data processing and Auto CAD for charting/Planning.
  • Experience in offshore.
Good to have skills
  • CARIS
  • Offshore Experience
  • Micro Station & GIS
  • Project Management skills is preferable.
  • Good communication Skills.

  • Responsible for participating in mock drills.
  • Entitled to refuse any to undertake any activity considered unsafe.
  • Responsible for filling up of hazard observation card, wherever hazard has been noticed at site.
  • Responsible for safe housekeeping of his work place.
  • To stop any operation that is deemed unsafe.
  • To be able to operate fire extinguisher in case of fire.
  • To report an incident as soon as possible to immediate supervisor and HSE manager.
  • To complete HSE trainings as instructed to do so.
