About the Role

This New York City based HYBRID position requires candidates to be located in NYC and work from the office three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). The Senior Director, Business & Legal Affairs works closely with senior attorneys and business divisions to manage content transactions, business development, and content licensing/distribution, primarily for Fubo Canada and North America, while also supporting US operations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic transactional support for content acquisition, distribution, and business development teams.
  • Negotiate and draft commercial agreements with major networks, studios, sports leagues, and FAST channels.
  • Advise on deal structures and coordinate with internal teams including product, engineering, sales, and operations.
  • Handle production matters, including talent and release agreements, and licensing issues.
  • Monitor legal and industry trends; provide training on emerging legal issues.
  • Manage high volume transactions, ensuring adherence to deadlines and mitigating legal risks.
  • Undertake special projects and other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • J.D. and membership in a U.S. State Bar (New York registration required if not already a member).
  • 6-9+ years of relevant legal experience in-house or at a top-tier firm, ideally in media, sports, or entertainment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in intellectual property licensing, content transactions, and commercial contract negotiation.
  • Exceptional drafting, negotiation, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to work with teams across several U.S. time zones in a fast-paced environment.
