About the Role: Director, Event Production
The Director of Event Production at Front Office Sports will spearhead the operational and logistical execution of all company events. This pivotal role involves managing all technical facets of event planning, programming, and execution, encompassing both front and back of house components. This includes comprehensive oversight of AV/Tech, lighting, sound, technical run of shows, stage management, labor coordination, onsite activation, brand integration, production, and fabrication.
We are seeking an experienced producer with a multi-year background in event strategy, production, and sponsorship management. The ideal candidate possesses a high-level strategic mindset to flawlessly produce technically and operationally sound events. This role serves as the primary manager for external vendor partners and technical staff, while also engaging directly with event speakers and key client stakeholders.
Furthermore, this position acts as a crucial liaison among Brand Partnerships, Account Management, and Partnership Marketing. The goal is to ensure sponsor commitments are executed flawlessly, activations are operationally sound and creatively integrated, and all efforts align with contractual obligations to uphold the overall event vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all production and logistical aspects of event execution.
- Collaborate with both internal and external partners to ensure the operational and technical success of each event.
- Collaborate with Account Management, Partnership Marketing, Brand Partnerships, and Editorial to create holistic and cohesive events that are newsworthy and provide a great experience.
- Lead the strategic planning of all technical components of consumer-facing events, from concepting through completion, to ensure they align with organizational goals and standards.
- Manage all aspects of event production, including sourcing, budgeting, scheduling, and vendor negotiations.
- Manage onsite schedule for load-in, build, break down, and load out of events; oversee all aspects of the venue, on-site vendors, and production staff.
- Own ROS (Run of Show) for internal programs, external vendors, and sponsor partners.
- Communicate technical requirements and deadlines clearly to vendors, speakers, internal stakeholders, and sponsor contacts.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- 8+ years of experience in events or experiential marketing.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize multiple projects.
- An organized multitasker who can work on a variety of projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to oversee Production Coordinators, Production Assistants, Interns, and Volunteers.
- Able to solve problems on-site in a calm and professional manner.
- Aware of the latest industry event trends.
- Floor Plan Design experience (CADs) is a plus.
