Summary:

The SVP, IT Product Management is a key executive role providing strong leadership and strategic vision, strategy, and execution for their Product Area. This individual ensures Product Area and Teams create, develop, and manage products that contribute to the business's success with measurable impact. A track record leading teams to partner with Product, Technical, and Business Stakeholders to collaboratively launch successful products is essential. This role requires expertise in Leadership, Product Management, Business Strategy, Technology, Agile Principles, and Market dynamics. The SVP, IT Product Management will identify process and training opportunities, ensuring team members effectively manage products through their lifecycle, including creating compelling product visions, strategies, and go-to-market plans. This role drives innovation, efficiency, and improves overall customer and team member experience, positioning Freedom Mortgage ahead of competitors.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides visionary leadership to the Product Area, Technology Teams, and Dependent Teams, acting as an Executive Leader.
  • Collaborates with other C-level and Senior Executives to align product vision and strategy with business objectives and market leadership.
  • Leads high-performing Product Area and Teams, including Leaders, Product Managers, and/or Product Owners, to create, develop, and manage product vision, strategy, and roadmaps.
  • Determines staffing, recruiting, and hiring for a high-performing Product Management Area.
  • Develops and communicates a comprehensive point of view on industry trends, the broader market, and competitive landscape.
  • Fosters a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the Product Area and team(s).
  • Coaches the Product Area for successful product lifecycle phases, communication, execution plans, high-quality artifacts, and outcome measurement.
  • Accountable for the overall go-to-market plan, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and partner/ecosystem strategies.
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to identify product and strategic initiative interdependencies across the organization.
  • Responsible for collaborative creation and development of Product processes, templates, and trainings from idea to implementation.
  • Ensures team members and leaders conduct impactful market research, competitive analysis, and customer feedback sessions.
  • Ensures roadblocks are removed for cross-functional Product, UX, Engineering, and QA teams, serving as a point of escalation and leader.
  • Ensures proper visibility and methods to measure and monitor Product performance by defining, tracking, and reporting success metrics.
  • Engages with customers, partners, and industry thought leaders to gather insights, build relationships, and promote products.
  • Provides stakeholders with timely updates and complies with all company policies and procedures, maintaining regular attendance.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has direct reports and manages staff in accordance with organizational policies, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, rewarding, disciplining, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must demonstrate the following knowledge, skill, and/or ability:

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Excellent leadership skills, inspiring, motivating, setting clear expectations, building trust and relationships.
  • Extensive expertise leading Senior Leaders and providing coaching to improve performance.
  • Extensive track record of leading with influence and gaining alignment on vision and strategy.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field and 15-20 years of experience in a Product Management or equivalent role, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Expertise in UX design principles and best practices.
  • Experience leading a horizontal team with vertical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Mortgage, Banking, Real Estate, or Financial Services.
  • Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

Work is typically performed in a standard interior office environment with moderate noise levels, requiring frequent sitting, talking, or hearing. Occasional standing, walking, using hands, reaching, and lifting/moving up to 25 pounds may be required.
