Job Description

3D Artist Freelance at Free-Work

Free-Work is seeking a highly skilled and experienced 3D Artist Freelance to join their team. This role focuses on creating immersive 3D content for real-time experiences and applications, collaborating closely with design and development teams to deliver visually striking and optimized assets.

🎨 Creation & 3D Production

  • Model, texture, and integrate props, characters, and environments for immersive experiences and real-time applications.
  • Adapt assets for performance optimization (polycount, materials, draw calls, LODs).
  • Collaborate with Technical Artists and Developers to ensure seamless integration within Unity or Unreal.
  • Contribute to look development, lighting, and staging.

🤓 Collaboration & Iteration

  • Work closely with Designers and Directors to translate creative concepts into impactful visuals.
  • Contribute to mood boards, style guides, and visual references.
  • Participate in internal reviews and propose creative or technical improvements.
  • Support the pre-production phase with mock-ups and prototypes.

⚙️ Quality & Processes

  • Ensure asset consistency and maintain production standards across projects.
  • Help build and maintain 3D libraries and internal pipelines.
  • Stay informed about new workflows, tools, and techniques in XR production.

Candidate Profile

✍️ What You Need

  • Diploma in 3D Art, Game Design, Animation, or Visual Arts, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a 3D Artist in the XR, video game, or digital production industry.
  • Proficiency in software like Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max, as well as texturing tools such as Substance Painter / Designer.
  • Understanding of real-time workflows in Unity or Unreal Engine.
  • Ability to create optimized, stylized, or realistic assets for interactive use.
  • Good sense of composition, lighting, and colors.
  • Collaborative spirit and clear communication with technical and creative teams.
  • (Asset) Experience on XR projects, shaders, VFX, or procedural tools (Houdini).
