Job Description
Role Overview: AI Business Analyst
Free-Work UK is seeking an experienced AI Business Analyst for an initial 6-month, fully remote contract position, falling outside IR35. This role requires individuals with strong analytical capabilities and a solid understanding of AI/ML/LLM concepts to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions. Due to the sensitive nature of the work, candidates must hold or be eligible for SC clearance.
Key Responsibilities and Skills
Business & Analytical Skills
- Strong background in business analysis, analytics, product management, or consulting.
- Proven ability to define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), value cases, and benefits realization plans.
- Excellent structured thinking and problem decomposition skills.
AI / ML / LLM Expertise
- Solid understanding of supervised and unsupervised Machine Learning (ML).
- Proficiency in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Model (LLM) concepts, including prompting, embeddings, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), and fine-tuning.
- Experience with model evaluation and trade-offs.
- Practical experience working with ML and LLM systems in production or near-production settings.
Python & Data Skills
- Comfortable using Python for data analysis and prototyping.
- Experience with common data and ML libraries such as pandas, numpy, and scikit-learn, particularly in notebook-based workflows.
- Ability to read, understand, and critique ML code (building full production models is not required).
Communication & Influence
- Ability to clearly explain ML and LLM concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong facilitation, documentation, and decision-making skills.
- Confidence in challenging both business and technical assumptions.
Security Clearance Requirement
Due to the nature and urgency of this post, candidates holding or who have held high-level security clearance in the past are strongly encouraged to apply. Successful applicants will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment, a process that can take a minimum of 10 weeks.
