The Oncology Infusion Pharmacist is responsible for performing and directing distribution functions for Fred Hutch pharmacies. All employees are expected to demonstrate a commitment to our values of collaboration, compassion, determination, excellence, innovation, integrity, and respect.

This is a 1.0 FTE (40 Hours) role that will work out of our South Lake Union Campus. This role will primarily be Monday thru Friday but may include periodic Weekend and Holiday shifts dependent on clinical need.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare oncology-related medications and compounded pharmaceutical preparations, which include labeling and maintenance of patient records.
  • Direct pharmacy technicians, technicians in training, interns, and assistants in all areas of technical responsibilities.
  • Ensure that controlled substances are properly stored, dispensed, recorded, and inventoried.
  • Monitor oncology-related medication therapy for rational use.
  • Participate in drug utilization review data collection and assessment.
  • Communicate with providers and patients regarding medications that have been prescribed.
  • Know and follow all Pharmacy Department and Fred Hutch policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal laws.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • One year of experience in pharmacy practice or completion of an American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists accredited residency training program.
  • State of Washington Pharmacist license.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse teams.

Preferred:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, or equivalent, from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Experience with Epic Willow and Beacon Oncology Applications.
  • Experience in oncology pharmacy practice.

Pre-Employment Drug Screening

As a condition of employment, Fred Hutch conducts pre-employment drug testing for this pharmacy role. All offers of employment in the pharmacy department are conditional on the applicant successfully completing and passing a drug test in accordance with Fred Hutch policy.

Salary and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is from $149,365.00 to $248,913.00 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. This is a 1.0 FTE (40 Hours) role that will work out of our South Lake Union Campus. This role will primarily be Monday thru Friday but may include periodic Weekend and Holiday shifts dependent on clinical need. This position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship at this time.
