About the role
Quality Assurance Tester
Under direct supervision and following standard procedures, assesses the quality of software programs through manual and automated testing. Creates test matrices following business requirements and applications by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Tests and verifies the quality of software programs.
- Reviews and analyzes system specifications.
- Builds and maintains test scenarios, cases, and plans based on business requirements.
- Executes test scripts and reviews results.
- Collaborates with Application Developers to develop effective strategies and test plans.
- Creates technical logs to document test phases and defects, reporting and documenting errors.
- Ensures software programs meet client’s needs, are cost-effective, and efficient prior to implementation.
- Verifies software runs according to business requirements and conforms to guidelines.
- Works with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development life cycle.
- Assists in troubleshooting issues.
- Estimates and prioritizes testing activities.
- Effectively analyzes, develops, and leads the execution of small, non-complex system changes within a limited area of responsibility.
- Prepares project task lists by gathering, analyzing, and making recommendations based on client input.
- Coordinates with the client throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintains a mutual understanding of project direction with programming staff.
- Balances project priorities, recognizes scope creep, and ensures deadlines are met.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
