The Role: Technical Support Engineer

As a Technical Support Engineer, you will join our international team, operating under a B2B / independent contractor model based in Mexico. This role is crucial for ensuring our customers receive timely and high-quality technical assistance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary technical contact for both internal and external customers, providing exceptional support.
  • Efficiently handle and resolve technical support requests concerning FRABA products, including rotary encoders, inclinometers, and internal production equipment.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously enhance structured product knowledge documentation to ensure consistent and scalable support.
  • Design and implement effective processes, tools, and workflows to strengthen our product support infrastructure.
  • Monitor and analyze product support Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), identify emerging trends, and drive necessary corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate on product development projects to build and maintain comprehensive product knowledge and support documentation.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

FRABA Group seeks talented individuals eager to learn and develop new skills. While specialized know-how is valued, a strong willingness to grow is paramount. Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related technical field.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, essential for effective interaction with diverse customers and internal teams.
  • A structured, analytical, and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken); German language skills are a valuable asset but not mandatory.
  • Availability to provide support to customers across the American time zones.
  • Practical experience with industrial communication interfaces such as EtherNet/IP, J1939, IO-Link, or similar protocols.
  • Ability to accurately read and understand both 2D and 3D CAD drawings and electronic schematics.
  • Experience with industrial sensors, controllers, wiring, and related engineering tools.
  • Exposure to product knowledge management, documentation, or technical content creation.
  • Familiarity with digital support tools, including ticketing systems, knowledge bases, and data visualization software.
