Forwards Fund is a private angel investor network that builds early-stage deep tech startups solving the greatest problems in critical infrastructure sectors. From energy, mining, and agriculture, to manufacturing, logistics, and defense, we focus on founders and ideas that have the potential to revolutionize the industries that keep humanity running. With a first principles approach and pioneering ambition, we help tomorrow's leaders in engineering and technology move the world forwards.

Who Should Apply?

• College/University Students, recent graduates, or early career professionals who are in the very early stages of developing a deep tech startup in one of the following industries: energy, defense, manufacturing, logistics, mining, or agriculture. Completion of college degree(s) is not required.
• Startups must be pre-seed or earlier. Incorporation is not required but encouraged prior to applying.
• Software-only startups are welcome to apply IF the software is used to provide value to one or more of the targeted critical infrastructure sectors listed above. Our focus is primarily on hard tech or an intersection of hardware and software.
• Applicants must be US citizens ONLY and startups must be based in the United States of America.
• Must align with the core values, worldview, and mission statement of the Forwards Fund organization. Founders must exhibit a record of integrity, extreme work ethic, optimism, perseverance, and the passion and drive to build technology that makes the world a better place.

What Do We Do?

• CONNECTING: The Forwards Fund private angel investor network deploys millions of dollars in private capital to the most innovative early-stage deep tech startups in America. Our angels own their own VC firms, have invested in multi-billion-dollar companies, and have started their own venture-backed startups raising millions in funding rounds.
• ADVISING: Our team of fellow investors and entrepreneurs are eager to partner with your team and help raise institutional/angel capital, develop products and branding, manage PR and marketing, aid in acquiring top talent, and much more.
• INVESTING: Forwards Fund angel investors provide small-scale, private "first checks" to founders with visions and ideas we believe in. This is separate from pre-seed capital that may be raised from our network.
