We strive to cultivate a profound sense of belonging through our games, their vibrant communities, and our internal culture of mutual respect and collaboration. Our goal is to forge powerful connections and enduring memories within our game communities. We foster an environment of diversity, equity, and belonging, where our varied skills, experiences, and backgrounds collectively enhance the games we develop.

We are a nascent yet formidable organization, led by a team of seasoned game industry veterans. This presents ample opportunities for you to significantly influence both the products we create and the overarching strategic direction of the company. If you are passionate about tackling complex challenges with direct, thoughtful communication and a team-first mindset, Fortis Games could be the ideal environment for you.

About The Role

As a Senior Research Analyst within our Early Market Validation team at Fortis Games, your contributions will directly shape the trajectory of our game development. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our initial titles not only meet but surpass the expectations of the global gaming community. Your primary focus will involve conducting and presenting comprehensive research to thoroughly understand our target audiences, their evolving preferences, and their anticipations from gaming experiences. You will be closely partnered with a dedicated Research Manager, collaboratively working on specific game sets, allowing you to grow alongside the product's evolution and witness the direct impact of your research.

What You Will Achieve

  • Collaborate closely with Research Managers to plan and execute consumer insights and user research initiatives specifically for mobile games.
  • Implement research plans by effectively coordinating with external vendors, various cross-functional teams, and other key stakeholders.
  • Manage and conduct diverse research and usability projects, leveraging online tools such as Playtestcloud and specialized Survey Providers.
  • Support end-to-end research projects, employing a comprehensive range of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies to address stakeholder inquiries effectively.
  • Create and develop detailed survey and research briefs that guide data collection and analysis.
  • Perform in-depth data analysis and skillfully present research findings, evaluating the potential appeal of game concepts, art styles, and overall market feasibility.
  • Act as the primary advocate for player perspectives in regular product meetings, consistently championing the critical importance of player research insights.

What You Will Need To Be Successful

  • Possess a genuine passion for gaming, complemented by relevant professional experience within the interactive entertainment or gaming industry.
  • Skilled in mixed research models, with a strong emphasis on consumer research that directly informs strategic decision-making and yields actionable insights.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, proficient in the art of storytelling and delivering compelling presentations to effectively convey complex research insights.
  • Proficient in both quantitative and qualitative research methods, coupled with exceptional survey design capabilities.
  • Experience utilizing user research tools (e.g., usertesting.com, playtestcloud.com) is considered a valuable advantage.
  • Proficient in essential software such as Excel, PowerPoint, and G-suite, and familiar with data visualization tools like Looker.
  • Possess knowledge of data manipulation and statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, or similar platforms).
  • A degree in psychology, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), social sciences, or a closely related field is preferred.
  • Fluency in English is required for effective communication.

Why Join Us

There are numerous compelling reasons to join Fortis Games, but here are a few highlights:

  • We hold a strong conviction that we are pioneering a new operational paradigm for game studios, with the core mission of crafting exceptional games that cultivate connected communities.
  • Beyond creating 'Games Where You Belong', we are equally committed to building internal communities where our own people thrive and belong.
