Occupational Therapist
Fort Bend ISD is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to provide specialized services to school-aged children. This role involves conducting evaluations, implementing evidence-based interventions, and collaborating with educators to ensure positive learning outcomes and student participation in educational settings.
Service Delivery
- Plan and provide services consistent with occupational therapy goals in the Individual Education Plan (IEP).
- Implement IEP goals/objectives using current research-based best practice therapy techniques.
- Recommend, maintain, adapt, and/or construct equipment for student use.
Compliance
- Comply with federal, state, and local mandates and board policies.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations for Occupational Therapy as part of a student’s Full Individual Evaluation.
- Compile and interpret student evaluation results to determine the educational need for Occupational Therapy services, adaptive equipment, and/or assistive technology.
- Collaborate with educators to develop Individual Educational Plans (IEPs).
Administrative/ Campus Support
- Support student services provided by the Occupational Therapist.
- Train staff on the appropriate use of adaptive equipment.
- Manage and maintain accurate individual special education records.
- Participate in ARD/IEP meetings and staffing as a collaborative team member.
- Complete documentation for Medicaid reimbursement/SHARS regularly.
